SC's Admonition on Summoning Officials

This Supreme Court order to avoid unnecessary summons to government officials a timely and important one. Ever since the Vasudevan episode of the mid-1990s, state and central government officials have taken litigation very seriously. However, this has also meant that senior officials have to spend several hours and sometimes entire days in court -- away from their desks and real jobs of governance and service delivery.
